In recent months, Epcot has become a mess of construction walls. Between the parking lot and the park entrance, guests have had to navigate their way through a maze of walls to get to security. Upon arriving at Epcot tonight, there were a couple of surprises on the way into the park.
First of all, some of the construction walls that have been up for months between the parking lot and the park entrance are now gone. The parking lot tram is once again able to transport guests closer to the park’s entrance, as a new roundabout opened today. The completion of this project will allow guests easier access to the entrance, with less walking distance and less confusion along the way.
Next, a very much welcomed surprise is that a new security checkpoint opened today, as well. The location of this new checkpoint is on the right-hand side of the monorail station when walking in from the parking lot. Thanks to the location of this new checkpoint, guests who are arriving via monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center and have therefore already gone through security will no longer have to go through security a second time. This will significantly reduce the lines for bag check and will save guests time and hassle while entering the park.
As the massive overhaul of Epcot progresses, we will continue to keep you up to date on the changes, so be sure to check back often for new details.
