The 2019 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival in underway!! Many regular WDW visitors look forward to this festival all year long, ourselves included. While this year’s festival features many of the same options as years past, there are some new additions in 2019. Now that the festival has begun and we’ve had a chance to explore a bit, we wanted to fill you in on some of the new things you can find at the festival this year.

As I’m sure you all know already, Epcot is in the process of going through a massive overhaul. There is a ton a construction going on in and around the park. As a result, some modifications to the festival have been made. For example, the Festival Center you may have become familiar with in the past is absent this year.

Also, in past years, park guests were greeted, as they first entered the park, by Epcot International Food & Wine Festival signs they could take pictures of with Spaceship Earth in the background. Due to construction at the park entrance, these signs have now been moved to the front of World Showcase. Being greeted by construction walls upon entering the park this year is a bit underwhelming, to say the least.

While these kiosks are not new this year, one of the changes you will find this year is the location of the kiosks for Hawai’i, Thailand, and Islands of the Caribbean. Last year, as you entered World Showcase, Islands of the Caribbean was the first kiosk you would see to your left, and Hawai’i was the first kiosk you would see to your right. This year, the first kiosk on the left is Thailand, which has swapped places with Islands of the Caribbean. The Hawai’i kiosk is now located in Future World West, behind Shimmering Sips, which made its festival debut in 2018.

The Canada pavilion has a second option for the festival this year. In addition to the kiosk that is normally set up for the festival, Appleseed Orchard is making its debut in 2019 inside the Circle Vision 360 theater, as that attraction undergoes a renovation this fall.

Also new to the festival in 2019 is The Alps. This kiosk is located near the Norway pavilion.

Two additional options will be opening in October. The Donut Box (new in 2019) and Test Track Cool Wash will be opening on October 1st.

A new experience available this year is Emile’s Fromage Montage. Guests participating in this experience will follow Remy’s brother, Emile, on an adventure around Epcot sampling a variety of cheese options. After completing this experience and collecting all five stamps on your passport, you can return to Shimmering Sips and show your stamped passport for a complimentary cheesecake.

As always, there is a full line of awesome brand new festival merchandise available in shops throughout Epcot. Check out Disney’s website for more details. The Eat to the Beat Concert Series features 13 new acts this year, as well. For the full schedule of concerts, click here.

The 2019 festival kicked off on August 29th and continues through November 23rd, so we will be back to explore and experience more things over the next 2 1/2 months. We will bring you along with us on our social media pages throughout the festival, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up to date on where we are and what we’re doing on our WDW adventures.

What are you looking forward to most at this year’s festival? Is there anything you would like us to discuss more about this year’s festival? We plan to do a review of the things we experience at the festival at a later date, so feel free to give us any suggestions you may have.

XOXO, Halie and Danny
