With major Hurricane Dorian sitting stationary just off of Florida’s southeast coast, Walt Disney World announced tonight that operating hours will be modified on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019. This is a rare occurrence for Walt Disney World.
Since WDW is in the middle of the Florida peninsula, the resort typically does not experience the full impact of hurricanes. Although the forecast track of Hurricane Dorian still shows the storm not officially making landfall in Florida, the size and strength of this storm are severe enough that Disney has decided to modify its hours on Tuesday.
Here is a list of the operating hours and cancellations that will be in effect on Tuesday:
Magic Kingdom will be open from 8 AM to 3 PM, with Extra Magic Hours from 7 AM to 8 AM.
Epcot will be open from 7 AM to 3 PM.
Hollywood Studios will be open from 9 AM to 2 PM, with Extra Magic Hours from 6 AM to 9 AM.
Animal Kingdom will be open from 8 AM to 2 PM, with Extra Magic Hours from 7 AM to 8 AM.
Disney Springs will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM.
ESPN Wide World of Sports will be closed all day.
Blizzard Beach will be closed.
Typhoon Lagoon will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is canceled on September 3rd.
We will pass along more information if/when it becomes available. We hope everyone stays safe as Hurricane Dorian inches slowly closer to Florida.
XOXO, Halie and Danny
