After months of construction, the new pathway on the west side of Cinderella Castle connecting Liberty Square to Fantasyland is now open in Magic Kingdom. With the ever increasing number of people visiting the WDW parks, the pathway that existed previously was desperately in need of widening, which is exactly what was done.
This new, wider pathway should help alleviate some of the congestion during busier times of the day as guests make their way from Liberty Square, next to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, to Fantasyland, between Cinderella Castle and Mickey’s PhilharMagic.
Also part of this project was an upgrade to the seating area next to Sleepy Hollow. This area is now more wide open and has a much more updated look. As far as seating in this area, there are five full size picnic tables with seating for six people each, as well as two smaller tables with seating for four people each.
The moat between the new pathway and Cinderella Castle is still drained, as more construction continues to be done in this area.
As more updates on the construction projects throughout WDW become available, we will be sure to pass along any new information we have. Be sure to check back often for these updates.
